Hi. My name is Isaiah Taylor. I am 23 years old. Over the next 37-or-so years of my life, I intend to build several multi-billion-dollar companies (in today’s money).

This is not a prediction of the future, but rather a proof of derivation. There are a lot of people who have built successful companies, but they are too often perceived as products of their environments, the market, or simple chance. Others are lauded as savants, but savants can be safely ignored because they were “born with” the skills that would put them at the top inevitably. In the mind of the public, none of these types are path-choosers, they are all path-followers in an ultimate philosophy-of-life sense.

I don’t want there to be any doubt about the companies that I build. If I am successful, it will be because of a core set of beliefs that I hold about the world, and principles that follow from that.

I’ll be talking about these principles as I go, but you don’t need to take them seriously until the companies are built and the valuations are in Forbes. But if that happens, I will present this short post as my evidence that those manifestations proceeded from a very specific intention and system of belief.

If I fail to do this, it is not necessarily an indictment against the principles; more likely, it’s an indictment on my execution. However, if I succeed, it will show the principles to have been meritorious. Why? Because it is very unlikely that I have such good execution skills that I’d succeed with a bad set of principles. I’m not the “born-with-it” savant mentioned above; I have not been filtered up to the top based on superior skill. Considered statistically, I have average execution skill. Considered specifically, I have below-average execution skill in many of the most important areas for building companies. So if I win, it’s the principles and the beliefs that won.
