In 2017, I was freshly out of being in a band and deciding where to start as a solo artist. I was working with a lot of producers to figure that out and had been making a lot of my favorite stuff with Melvv. One day while standing in the sunlight of his living room in Beverly Hills, he played me the warmest synth I'd ever heard in my entire life and ten minutes later Garden was pretty much done. A few months later it was time to decide which song to step out into the world with and everything in my heart told me Garden was that. Lyrically and energetically it just felt right. This is the first drop in my "relics" series, the collection of songs I put out over the first three years of my solo project.
