A daughter helps her father in arranging pots for drying before hardening them in the kiln while her mother was working with clay to shape various types of pots. This family was working hard to earn around MMK850,000 per month, with a little under half – around MMK350,000 – as profit to support two grandparents. This photo was taken at Twante. In Myanmar, town of Twante has been known for its thriving pottery industry. Located in the Irrawaddy delta, it is the clay of the river that makes Twante a special pottery town of Myanmar. For centuries, the people of Twante have lived off their pottery skills. Even today, their pots are of huge demand throughout Myanmar, but unfortunately, a lot of their new generation travels to neighbouring.
